In
its second century of seed innovation and worldwide service, Harris
Moran remains one of the few fully-integrated global vegetable
seed companies.
Our longevity in this business stems from an unwavering focus on
two things:
access to
perhaps the most diverse germplasm pool in the world in
which all new varieties are developed; and a
singular interest in the vegetable seed business - and the
vegetable seed business alone.
With each seed purchase, generations of customers in over 65
countries have entrusted us with their livelihoods, literally
bancking on us to provide them the best product from plow to plate.
Still, a seed company is only as good as its
breeding program. Our breeders, stationed at
research stations around the corner and across the
globe, concentrate on the four plant breeding
basics: yield, eating quality, adaptability, and
disease resistance.
With the recent integration of Harris Moran
into French owned Groupe Limagrain, we can
now tap into one of the most diverse germplasm
bases to create new and better varieties with
disease protection built-in not added on.
Started in the last century by a group of French
farmers, Groupe Limagrain is one of the world's
largest seed companies. Despite the reach and
breadth of its sales and breeding programs, this
cooperative is still owned by French farmers, who
still farm.
