Location: Davis, California

The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Development of competitive, commercial tomato varieties for targeted markets

• Germplasm development

• Effective management of resources and staff

• Creative use of plant pathology and molecular marker support functions

• Leadership role in introduction of new products

Qualifications:

• Requires minimum of MS Degree in related discipline and 3-5 years experience in plant breeding, or PhD and equivalent training.

• Strong field orientation

• Experience in seed industry is desirable.

• Fluency in Spanish a plus

Skills required:

• Must possess good interpersonal skills.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access database management

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
